From the time I started in computer work about a decade ago, I'd get calls from people who got what they termed "great deals" from Internet providers based far away. That included simple Internet connections and support for programs and software. But the so-called great deal turned out to be not-so-great a deal when problems turned up. People would try to phone support lines and find themselves talking to someone in the Philippines or Singapore who they can barely understand, much less discuss a problem with. Or, they'd send e-mails to tech support for problems they're facing right now and get an e-mail back that they would get an answer to their questions within 48 business hours. Amid all the frustration, they'd call me. And I'd help them with their problems. It was always so much easier when people contacted me from the start and I got them set up with the right equipment, the right programs and taught them how to use it in the beginning. It was easier for them. It was easier for me. So what I'd suggest is that when you start with a computer or project, or want to upgrade them, you start with me and get what you need in the first place. I'll still be there to troubleshoot any difficulties you might have. It will just be so much easier on you and so much easier on me to do it that way.
